Description
This sweet Vouvray Moelleux has a golden, bright straw yellow color with light golden reflections. The complex and very intense fragrance reveals an aroma of crystallized fruit, peach, tea and a hint of quince. The wine is powerful and voluminous, long on the palate, followed by a slight bitterness before returning to the ripe fruit. Chenin is known to yield nice sweet wine, but find the right balance. Arnaud Herivault knows how to do this, a real party!
This wine comes from hand-picked grapes affected by Pourriture Noble. We also call this noble rot a phenomenon that affects the grapes on the skin and drains the 'juice' from the grape, giving you a very concentrated taste and smell. After a gentle pressing for 7 to 8 hours, the must with a high sugar concentration is drained and then transferred to oak barrels for long fermentation with temperature control. The fermentation is completely spontaneous, without the addition of selected yeast.
Aging potential: 50 years or longer in the basement.

This small domain is located on the famous steep slopes of the Vouvray region, just north of the majestic Loire River. It produces small amounts of exquisite white wine from very old Chenin Blanc vines.Their soil is full of flint and flint - tiny, million-year-old sea fossils, dating back to a time when the sea covered this part of northern France. The soils now provide perfect drainage in this cool, wet region.Domaine d'Orfeuilles was founded in 1947 by Paul Herivault.
This vineyard is now cultivated by Bernard Herivault and his son. They make every effort to proudly preserve the traditions in the cultivation and production of their vines.Resulting in tight yet creamy syrupy wines that show an abundance of qualities from fresh lime and fennel seeds to dry savory "flinty" notes.
