Gran Callejo has a ruby red and cherry color. In the fragrance it has aromas of ripe fruit, minerals, spices, eucalyptus, white pepper, cocoa and hints of undergrowth. The taste is fresh with sensations of red fruit, balsamic, cocoa and bay leaf.
Vintage 2014 can be considered typical Ribera del Duero. The total rain was 440l / m2. Between November 2013 and July 2014, 400l of rain fell. This means that the vineyard had good water reserves for the dry summer months. In terms of temperatures, there was no spring frost. The beginning of summer was warm and dry with a high contrast of day-night in September. This month is the most important month for proper ripening of the grape. The vineyard cycle anticipated that of the previous year in 2013. The harvest starts on September 27 with the white grapes and ends on October 6 with the red grapes. The quality and ripeness of the grapes are excellent, well-balanced in aromas, acidity, sugar and in optimal condition.
Aging: in Franch oak barrels for 24 months and 36 months in bottle.
