Description
Born from a blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this wine is aged for one year in French Allier barriques and 15 hl Slavonian oak barrels; Deep ruby red in color, with vibrant purple reflections, the nose is intense with hints of red fruit and pleasant notes of spice. The taste is enveloping and structured, balanced by the right freshness and a velvety tannin. A wine of high quality, which, thanks to the combination of French vines and the calcareous soil, offers you a special and original wine. New flavors, but always characterized by the characterization of the Sesta area. Harmonious, soft and with an enveloping and structured taste. A red wine for every meal, excellent with red meat but also with lamb, veal or pork, vegetable dishes and hearty white fish baked on the bone.
Tenuta di Sesta is located in the southern part of the municipality of Montalcino, between Sant'Angelo in Colle and Castelnuovo dell'Abate, near the famous Romanesque abbey of Sant'Antimo, on a south-facing slope that goes downhill from 400 to 200 meters above sea level. These lands are considered one of the most suitable areas for the production of Brunello di Montalcino, given their specific location: in fact, the vineyards in the north are sheltered from the cold winds from the north by the Poggio d'Arna and enjoy the warm Maremma currents thanks to its proximity to Monte Amiata which favors a mild microclimate. Thanks to its enchanting location in Sesta, it is possible to enjoy the fruits of the earth well before other areas.
