Description
Rayuelo, made from 100% Bobal, has a deep red garnet color. In the scent it has aromas of black fruit, such as berries and blackberries combined with spices. In the mouth, the wine is full, powerful and complex. Dark fruit is combined with silky tannins, liquorice, pepper and oak notes.
Bodegas Altolandon is located at 1080 meters above sea level and is one of the highest wine estates in Spain. It owns 70ha vineyard located near the town of Landete. The large temperature difference between day and night in the vineyard ensures gradual ripening of the grape. After the fruit has been picked, it goes to the modern equipped winemaking room. No industrial yeasts are used, but only those naturally occurring on the grape. Depending on the grape used, the skins remain in contact with the juice for an average of 2 to 3 weeks, followed by a light pressing. After this, the young wine is sent to the barrel cellar for further aging in barriques. About 25% of these barrels are replaced every year. All wines undergo malolactic fermentation in the barrel. Rayuelo ripens in barriques for 8 months. After the wine has been bottled, it rests for at least 8 months before the wine is put on the market. Rosalia Molina is the big woman behind this project.
