HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

WINE OF THE MONTH

Love is in the air

They have stolen our hearts, the Core Bianco and Core Rosso from Azienda Agricola Montevetrano, an illustrious winery in San Cipriano Picentino near the Italian port city of Salerno. Core means - how appropriate! - heart in the Campania dialect. Core means the essence in English. You hit the nail on the head with both translations. Core Bianco and Core Rosso are made with so much love that if you want to decorate someone on February 14th or just want to have a warm heart, you will essentially not get away from it.

Core Bianco 2017 is a blend of greco - which most likely originated in Greece - and the indigenous grape fiano. This wine combines the elegance of fiano with the structure of greco. The fragrance has intense notes of peach, pear and rosemary. The Core Bianco is a fresh and at the same time full-bodied wine, with those typical mineral hints from the region in the aftertaste. Core Bianco makes every heart beat faster with fish dishes, pasta, charcuterie, but also with lemon pie or delizia al limone.

Core Rosso 2016, produced exclusively from aglianico, is harvested entirely by hand. In the nose you immediately discover the passionate hints of plum and amarena cherries, enriched with notes of cinnamon and cocoa. On the palate it is soft, juicy and pleasantly fresh. This Valentine's wine par excellence is the perfect accompaniment to pâté, venison steak, ossobuco and hard cheeses.

Do you want to re-light the fire in your current relationship or do you want to win the heart of that one nice man or woman? Cupid hits the spot with both Core Bianco and Core Rosso in all cases. Core Bianco and Core Rosso can be purchased for 19.95 and 22.95 euros per bottle respectively via this website or in our wine shop on Fahrenheitstraat.
