The Winery

Winemaker Eulogio Pomares is internationally recognised for elevating Albariño through his work at Bodegas Zárate. Together with his wife Rebeca Montero, he launched Quinta do Estranxeiro in 2019 to explore the unique terroirs of Ribeira Sacra. Their philosophy centres on minimal intervention and maximum site expression.

Heroic Viticulture

The vineyards are planted on breathtaking terraces overlooking the Sil and Miño rivers. Granite, slate and schist soils, combined with Atlantic influences and high elevations, create wines of exceptional freshness and complexity. Most vineyard work must be performed by hand, making Ribeira Sacra one of Europe's most demanding wine regions.

Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in chestnut vats and concrete tanks, followed by around seven months of ageing before bottling without fining or filtration. The result is a wine of remarkable authenticity and precision.
