Cave Gallician Prestige Blanc 2024

A blend of Roussanne (50%), Grenache blanc (20%), Marsanne (10%) and viognier (20%). The grapes are lightly pressed, resulting in a subtle, pale pink colour with light grapefruit reflections. Fermentation takes place at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks, followed by a short maturation to preserve the freshness and fruity aromas.

Producer & area: Cave Gallician is a cooperative founded in 1951 in the village of Gallician, located in the southern part of the Rhône Valley. The cooperative has around 50 affiliated winegrowers, who together manage 800 hectares of vineyards.

The winery benefits from a favourable terroir, influenced by the proximity of the Camargue and the Mediterranean Sea. The soil is mainly composed of gravel and clay, which contributes to good drainage and the concentration of aromas in the grapes. The combination of warm days and cooling winds, such as the mistral, allows the grapes to ripen optimally and the wines to retain their freshness and aromatic intensity.

Cave Gallician is known for its quality-oriented approach, with a focus on preserving the typical characteristics of the terroir. The wines are often accessible, expressive and characteristic of the region.

Costières de Nîmes is a recognized wine region in the south of France, which is part of the Rhône Valley. This area is strategically located between the Rhône River and the Mediterranean coastline.

The region is known for its unique soil, consisting of a mixture of pebbles, loam and red clay. This composition ensures optimal water drainage and contributes to the ripeness and concentration of the grapes. The climate is Mediterranean, with long, sunny days and hot summers, alternating with the influence of the mistral wind, which keeps the vineyards dry and healthy.

The main grape varieties in this region are Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre, which are often used for both red and rosé wines. Wines from Costières de Nîmes are known for their fruity and spicy aromas, fresh acidity and elegant structure

Other information: The bull on the label refers to the nearby Camargue, a region known for its traditional cattle breeding and wild bulls. The bull symbolises the local culture, including the Course Camarguaise, a traditional bull-running competition.
