The Quevedo Bravo Organic White 2024 has a distinct and pure aroma of ripe lime and juicy stone fruit, complemented by subtle mineral nuances reminiscent of wet stone. On the palate, the same fruit notes come clearly to the fore. The wine has a good body and a beautiful balance thanks to a lively acidity that provides a pleasant freshness, followed by a refreshing finish with notes of citrus and stone fruit.
This organic blend is crafted by winemaker Mariana Rosária, who has the Rabigato, Arinto, and Gouveio grapes hand-harvested at the moment they are perfectly ripe. In the winery, the bunches are cooled to 8-10 °C and gently pressed. Subsequent fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks at 15 °C and lasts 20 days. Exclusively indigenous yeasts are used to optimally preserve the natural identity of the grapes.
The grapes grow in the Douro Valley in the vineyards of Quinta da Trovisca, situated at an altitude of 450 to 500 meters. The combination of this altitude and a slate (schist) soil gives the wine its characteristic freshness and minerality. After fermentation, the wine ages for another 6 months in stainless steel tanks, during which time it is regularly stirred on the lees for the first 4 months to improve structure and mouthfeel.
