A Chardonnay That Combines Richness and Elegance
The Domaine Saint Hilaire Advocate Chardonnay 2024 showcases the remarkable potential of Chardonnay in the sun-drenched vineyards of Southern France. Combining ripe fruit intensity with carefully judged oak maturation, this wine offers richness, complexity and remarkable balance.
Bright golden in colour, it opens with expressive aromas of pineapple, mango, ripe peach and citrus. Subtle notes of butter, vanilla and toasted oak add depth and sophistication. On the palate, the wine is smooth and generous, revealing a creamy texture supported by fresh acidity and a lingering finish marked by tropical fruit, delicate spice and minerality.
About Domaine Saint Hilaire
Located in Montagnac near Pézenas, Domaine Saint Hilaire is one of the historic estates of the Languedoc region. Benefiting from clay-limestone soils and a Mediterranean climate, the estate produces wines that combine concentration, elegance and outstanding value.
Owned by Nick and Lisa Kent, the estate blends traditional vineyard practices with modern winemaking expertise. Domaine Saint Hilaire was among the first local producers to plant Chardonnay extensively, helping establish the variety as one of the flagship grapes of the Pays d'Oc region.
Winemaking
The grapes originate from carefully selected low-yield vineyard parcels. After cold settling, part of the wine is fermented and matured in oak barrels for approximately six months, while the remaining portion is vinified in stainless steel tanks. The final blend combines freshness, fruit purity and oak-derived complexity. No malolactic fermentation is carried out, preserving the wine's vibrant freshness.
