A.E. DOR Rare Fine Champagne XO 0.70L
Some cognacs deserve to be enjoyed slowly and savoured to the fullest. A.E. DOR Rare Fine Champagne XO is a wonderful example. This exceptional XO cognac has been aged for at least 25 years in oak barrels, giving it impressive depth and a beautifully refined character. A luxurious French cognac in which fruit, oak, spices and gentle earthy notes come together in remarkable harmony.
A Cognac House with an Impressive Heritage
The story of A.E. DOR began in 1858, when Amédée-Edouard DOR founded his own cognac house. His great passion was discovering, collecting and preserving exceptional eaux-de-vie. He travelled throughout the Cognac region in search of the finest spirits and gradually built an impressive collection.
Some of these precious old cognacs are still kept in the famous cellar known as Le Paradis. This remarkable place remains at the heart of the house. A.E. DOR is renowned for its traditional methods, extensive knowledge of ageing and the patience involved in creating exceptional cognacs.
Fine Champagne with at Least 25 Years of Ageing
This exceptional XO brings together eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne, the two most prestigious growing areas of the Cognac region. Together, they qualify for the designation Fine Champagne, which requires Grande Champagne to account for at least 50% of the blend.
The cognac has been aged for a minimum of 25 years in both dry and humid cellars. During this extended maturation, complex aromas develop and the cognac gains its remarkable depth and smoothness. The oak barrels play an important role, adding warmth and character.
A Remarkably Rich Flavour Profile
The nose reveals earthy aromas reminiscent of autumn leaves and a damp forest, combined with rich fruit and gentle spices. On the palate, the cognac starts pleasantly sweet before gradually revealing more layers of flavour. Expect stewed fruit, raisins, fresh fruit and beautifully scented oak.
Cinnamon, nutmeg, dried ginger and cloves add a wonderful spicy dimension. Underlying earthy notes provide extra depth and create a lovely balance with the sweeter aromas. The finish is long and refined, with hints of damp oak, toffee and gentle spices.
An XO to Be Truly Savoured
A.E. DOR Rare Fine Champagne XO is best enjoyed neat, at room temperature and served in a beautiful cognac glass. Give it a little time to open up and reveal its full aromatic character. It also pairs wonderfully with dark chocolate, nuts or an indulgent dessert.
An impressive French XO for true cognac enthusiasts and anyone looking to treat themselves to something truly special.
