The elegant Teliani Valley Georgia Gorgeous White is made from the Rkatsiteli grape, Georgia's most widely planted white grape variety and originating from the Kakheti region. The wine has a light, straw-yellow color and appears fresh and aromatic in the glass, with seductive notes of stone fruit such as peach and apricot, complemented by quince. A lively acidity gives the wine tension, while a subtle touch of tannin in the finish provides extra structure and depth. This makes it a versatile wine that pairs well with light fish dishes, salads, and cheese.
The wine is produced by Teliani Valley, one of Georgia's largest and most renowned wineries, based in Telavi in the heart of Kakheti. The house was founded in 1997 by a group of passionate winemakers with the ambition to revitalize the centuries-old Georgian wine culture using modern techniques. From humble beginnings, Teliani Valley has grown into a leading producer that is exported worldwide and enjoys international recognition. Kakheti is considered the birthplace of wine, with an unbroken viticultural tradition of over 8,000 years. The continental climate, with warm summers and cool nights, and the mineral-rich soils at the foot of the Caucasus offer ideal conditions for indigenous grape varieties such as Rkatsiteli. While Georgia is traditionally known for the traditional qvevri method, in which wine ages underground in clay amphorae, this Gorgeous White is vinified in stainless steel tanks. This results in an accessible, contemporary interpretation of Georgian winemaking that fully brings out the freshness and vibrancy of the grape.
