This Montepulciano is super fruity with a little bit of spiciness and a small hint of vanilla (due to the 6 months of wood aging). Lots of flavor with not too heavy tannins. Juicy, tasty and drinkable. Possibly chilled in the summer! Read more
This Montepulciano was made by the company of father and daughter Del Tonno. The family makes machines for the brick industry but had wanted to do something with their 'roots' for years, which is why they started the wine company in 2001.
A beautiful winery in Abruzzo, Colle Corviano. They are known for high quality Montepulciano d'Abruzze. The beautifully situated vineyards are largely located directly around the winery. They mainly grow indigenous varieties, such as Pecorino for white and Montepulciano for red. The basement is incredibly 'state of the art': there are peristaltic pumps. Do they use micro-bullage, is there a filter system that does not work with carbon but with gravel. And in addition, there is the option to apply pigéage completely automatically for each cuvée.
Wood maturing is used on the higher wines, but little new wood and more and more on botte. The base wines are grape pure, juicy, easy to drink and not acidified.
