Nuits-st-Georges les Grandes Vignes is a powerful and complex Burgundy.It has aromas of fresh red fruit followed by light mint notes and spices.In the mouth the red fruit returns along with black currant and currant.The oak is present but remains discreet and gives the wine a soft, slightly creamy aftertaste.
The vineyards for this Nuits-st-Georges les Grandes Vignes are located next to the Premier Cru 'Clos des Grandes Vignes' on red clay soils with limestone.The vines are between 20 and 50 years old and are located on low slopes facing east.After the grapes are harvested manually, the grapes are transferred into tapered wooden barrels.Here a cold maceration is carried out for a week after which the fermentation starts naturally.After pressing, the wines are placed in oak barrels.After maturation, the wines are bottled by gravity without clarification or filtration.
