Vignaioli del Morellino di Scansano is a cooperative that has existed for 50 years and has 170 members. The vineyards are located around the town of Scansano, just below Grosseto, in the far south of Tuscany.
The vineyards, with their saline soil, are situated right on the coast, at an altitude of approximately 150 meters. After harvest, the grapes are fermented separately. The Viognier is aged in stainless steel, while the Chardonnay is aged for four weeks in new oak barrels. After blending, the wine is aged for a further three months on the lees in stainless steel.
