Originating from the vast and sun-drenched Alentejo that covers much of southern Portugal. In recent years, the region has made a name for itself with big, ripe, fruity red wines that top the wine lists of many fine restaurants in Lisbon.
In the glass, the Paco de Conde Reserva presents itself with an intense garnet red colour. The nose is full of aromas of red fruits such as blackberries and raspberries with lots of currants and pleasant vanilla and toasted notes. In the mouth, the Tinto Reserva is soft, with soft tannins and a full, intense body. Elegant but with a lot of power. A red wine from Portugal to impress!
Serving suggestion: this wine goes well with game dishes, grilled vegetables, stews, cheeses and chocolate.
The Castelo Branco family has worked hard to transform their traditional, grain-based farming activities into a more competitive agricultural activity, such as vineyards and olive groves. The planting of the vines began in 1995 after selecting vineyards with the right location, soil and climate. Due to the dry and warm Alentejo, the entire area is provided with drip irrigation which ensures a perfect balance in the ripening of the grapes during the long, hot, dry summers.
Herdade Paço do Conde uses organic and sustainable farming techniques. They are keen to preserve biodiversity and produce wines that reflect the unique characteristics of the Alentejo.
Their wine range includes a variety of wines including whites, reds and rosés. They use both indigenous Portuguese grape varieties such as Antão Vaz, Arinto, Touriga Nacional and Aragonez as well as international varieties such as Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. Herdade Paço do Conde wines are characterised by their full flavour, ripe fruit aromas and good balance. They often offer complexity and expressiveness, and can be enjoyed on their own or with different dishes.
For those who would like to try it: the extra virgin olive oil from Herdade Paço do Conde, which is considered one of the best in its flavour type, can also be found in our range.
